WHO WE ARE &WHAT WE DO

TURNING POINT is a nonprofit, private business operated exclusively in Greenville, South Carolina.  We are not a franchise or a profit driven corporation.

OUR ONLY GOAL is to assist suffering alcoholics and drug addicts with their Recovery from addiction.

WE OFFER drug and alcohol free housing and transportation for work and errands at our 100 room facility.

WE ARE LOCATED central to business and manufacturing in the Greenville area in western South Carolina.

SINCE 1995 Turning Point has been successfully using a model of recovery which relies heavily on the 12-Step programs of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.

OUR RESIDENTIAL SETTING allows individuals to live and grow spiritually, physically and mentally in a safe, drug and alcohol free environment.

OUR PROGRAM MODEL is similar to in-patient programs and more intensive than out-patient treatment. At Turning Point you are living in a environment where everyone else is also in Recovery. Over the years people have come to Turning Point having suffered the non-unique losses of homes, jobs, family, driver's license, savings and just about everything else, including Hope.

WE HELP WITH FINDING EMPLOYMENT and provide transportation.

A WORKING MANS RECOVERY HOUSE where residents work in regular jobs off-site, go to meetings when they are not working, and as such they are allowed to pay as they go for the Program.  We have learned the working man's recovery house model to be useful in several ways.

  1. Our doors remain open without regard to a person's initial ability to pay.
  2. As the person works through the program they know that they are being self-supporting through their own contributions.
  3. After at least 90 Days, the individual can move forward with a job, some savings, clean time, tools to stay clean, and because they paid as they went, without a bill for Turning Point.

FOLLOW-UP CARE is available at all of the thousands of meetings taking place every day in the rooms of AA and NA. Fortunately many of our past graduates stay in touch with us and continue to share their successes.  People come in with different goals. Primarily they want to learn to live without drugs and alcohol. That alone may appear impossible yet once that is accomplished our graduates often move on to live the life they were put here to do.

CONTACT US with any questions. Again, our sole purpose is to help you to overcome your addiction by providing a safe place for you to stop and work a program for a while.  Our experienced staff is available to answer any questions you may have.
